The Story of the Main Line Easter Bunny

Hello! My name is Sarah Lockard and I am the Main Line Easter Bunny. I’m a Main Line native and have had my company, AroundMainLine, for 16 years. In late winter 2021, I decided on a creative whim to buy a bunny costume and hop around for the Easter season to spread joy across the ‘burbs. I had no idea what was in store for me once the costume arrived. I had a small window of nine days to get out and about as the “Main Line Easter Bunny!”

I was overwhelmed with the community response to the Bunny and the interest in having the Bunny at local businesses—it was hard to keep up. Once I began appearances, I realized the unifying and positive power of the Easter Bunny. It was emotionally and physically exhausting, albeit incredibly rewarding, as I felt a responsibility to spread the joy and hope of the Easter Season to as many children, people, business clients and strangers as possible.

Each season I am dedicated, honored and excited to make the bunny magic that much more magnificent to everyone I meet.

What I learned from the Bunny is that when we openly approach each other and connect without judgment, preconceived notions or a past history—we are immediately accepted for the great souls we are. Each season the Bunny is loved and appreciated by folks of all walks of life and even some dogs, lol.

I’ve met hundreds of strangers (sometimes in one afternoon!) who have lifted me up by snapping Bunny selfies, bringing their families out to local businesses, shedding tears of joy when their child lit up to see me or simply rolled down a car window and yelled “I love you Easter Bunny. You the MAN!!” It has become a blur of radical compassion and adrenaline I have never experienced.
